MMCC Tiered Membership System.

Beginning January 29th, MMCC will start implementing our "Tiered Membership" system. This membership system is designed to ensure that everyone using Mercs' resources is also helping to provide those resources, and receive maximum benefits for their membership.

At the end of every year, we crack open the treasury books and run the numbers to figure up exactly what ratio of members (Official and Forum-only) are helping fund the Mandalorian cause. With the MMCC being a 501c(7) Social/Hobby Club, we are limited in how funds come in to run our organization. Currently, less than 1% of the combined Official and Forum-Only Membership are paying for Mercs to be available to the other 99% of the membership.

This is a huge difference, and a difference that nobody in good conscience can rightfully ignore.

The new Codex(Charter) and Bylaws that were approved by the membership at the end of 2012 specifies 3 main membership groups: Forum/Internet Members, Auxiliary Members, and Official Members. Each of these types of membership have rights/privileges/benefits that define that type of membership. With that in mind, our new "Tiered Membership System" will work accordingly"

Tier 0: Non-Supporting Forum/Retired Member.
General forum access: No access to off-topic and social areas. No access to Organizational-level event areas, No access to Brigades.
Ads will be visible on the forums (non-invasive).

Tier 1: Supporting Forum/Retired Member.
Forum members who support Mercs with a donation will receive a "Supporter" tag and the following benefits:
Open forum community(minus Official Member/Staff areas), ability to get on the list for organizational-level gatherings (like DragonCon/SDCC dinners, etc), and potentially an annual supporter-only piece of MMCC merchandise. Official Members can also gain a "Supporter" tag by donating to the operational fund, as it's worked in the past.
Ads will be visible on the forums (non-invasive)

Tier 2: Auxiliary Membership.
Auxiliary Memberships are annual memberships for Forum-only Members that end 12 months to the date of purchase. These memberships are a static price, with no minimum limit like Supporting memberships. Auxiliary Memberships come with some great benefits, some of which include: Open forum community, Auxiliary Member Name badges (purchased in the Mercs store), Priority access to Mercs organizational events (limited by space/seats available), Special costume resources and patterns found ONLY at MMCC, and potentially an annual Auxiliary-only piece of MMCC merchandise.

Tier 3: Official Membership
Official Membership receives all the rights, honors, and benefits Mandalorian Mercs has to offer. Official Members may earn a "Supporter" tag by donating to the operational fund.

ANY FORUM/RETIRED MEMBERS WHO ARE CURRENTLY TAGGED AS *SUPPORTERS* FOR 2013 WILL AUTOMATICALLY FALL INTO A TIER 1 MEMBERSHIP.
