Invasion Report: Mandos from all over invaded the Phoenix Convention Center in the heart of the city for the biggest event of the year, Phoenix Comicon. This event was months in the making and gets bigger and better each year. The Mercs worked along side the 501st Legion, Rebel Legion, and the R2 Droid Builders to bring an amazing Tatooine experience to life. Con goers and Star Wars costumers loved the scenes, props, and photo ops that dominated a 50ft by 80ft space in the main exhibitor hall. There was the Millennium Falcon docking bay, a Greedo shoot out, and even a bar and cantina band. It really was a complete Star Wars experience with music, lights, interactive displays, and of course a good variety of Star Wars costumers were on hand to interact with everyone.

Besides having a good time and recruiting new members, the Mandos participated in a few memorable activities. The Mandos led a panel on joining the club and there was even a big Mando dinner on one of the nights. Also a handful of members met and took pictures with Star Wars celeb Sam Witwer and author Michael Stackpole was inducted as a Honorary Member of the MMCC. His pal, Timothy Zahn, was on hand for the induction. Zahn was already made a Honorary Member and had his own badge to show off. All weekend long, the Mandos collected donations to support LWI. Those funds will be going towards helping those who were devastated by the tornado in Moore, Oklahoma. By the end of con, a whopping $535.95 was donated. This includes money from the Bounty Hunt which took place on Saturday, where the Mando Mercs arrested over 35 people in the 2 hour time frame. All in all, it was a great event and very successful. Many folks seemed interested in the club and there were so many Mandos in attendance - at least 40 or 50 in total, including unofficial kits.
