Mission Objective: To spread Star Wars cheer for the charity, Joshua’s Future of Promises

Invasion Report: Mav Oya’la Clan along with members of Garrison Carida from the 501st Legion, attended Joshua’s Future of Promises event, Bingo For A Cure. Joshua’s Future of Promises is a charity set up to fight Fibrodysplasia Ossificans Progressiva, a very rare disease that turns muscle to bone. From the Joshua’s Future of Promises Facebook page:

“Six-year-old Joshua Scoble was born with a genetic disorder called FOP (Fibrodysplasia Ossificans Progressiva). FOP is a rare genetic disorder that affects about 700 people WORLD WIDE. When you have FOP, any kind of trauma, such as, injections, bumping or falling, this may result in a “flare-up”. Having a flare-up causes muscle to turn to bone, and in turn that bone will then attach to any existing bone and cause joints to lock or freeze up. Some refer to the FOP patients as “Human Statues”.
Dr. Kaplan, the leading FOP doctor, has been tirelessly working on finding a cure with the hope that FOP patients can lead a better life.”​

The Mercs and Imperials were on hand to play Star Wars with Joshua and his friends, and to entertain the over 1,000 people who attended the Bingo For A Cure fundraising event. The event was a great success and everyone had a fantastic time!

Mav Oya’la Clan would like to note a special thank you to Ken Querio from Garrison Carida for inviting us along to this event. The relationship between Mav Oya’la Clan and Garrison Carida was strengthened tremendously by this event and future events are sure to be even more successful.
