Mercs 'Reach for the Stars' Scholarship recipient announcement

The Mandalorian Mercs would like to congratulate Mercs and Rebel Legion costumer Julie Derhak for being the first ever recipient of the Mandalorian Mercs Scholarship award.



The Scholarship committee voted in favour of the Krayt Clan member receiving the $500 scholarship award to help her in her wish to study Video Games Design as a major.

Julie's impressive honors included being on the Honor Roll since the 7th Grade, CoEditor-in-Chief of a Literary Magazine and Editor for school Newspaper swayed the committee, as well as her impressive essay depicting how the Mercs has helped her overcome shyness and take an active role in her community.

Through her time in the Mercs, Julie has also helped 'Toys for Tots', 'Davis County Children's Justice Center' and 'Walk with Angels'.

Mandalore and the Mercs Council are delighted to award Julie with the scholarship, knowing that an important and hard working member of the Mandalorian Mercs Costume Club will receive support from the club she has so readily supported in the past.​
